지난 7월 27일 제 33회 하계올림픽 개막식이 프랑스 파리에서 있었습니다 . 이번 올림픽에 대한 민국은 143명이 출전해 1976년 몬트리올 대회 이후 48년 만의 가장 적은 규모라고 합니다. 그래서 금메달 목표도 5개 였는데요. 그런데 올림픽 시작된 지 몇일 만에 금메달 5 개를 조기 달성했고, 전망도 상향됐습니다.
지금까지 5개 금메달 중 2 개를 금메달 효자 종목인 양궁에서 현재까지 여자 단체전과 남자 단체전에서 땄습니다. 그리고 남녀 개인전과 혼성에서도 금메달을 기대하고 있습니다. 그런데, 이번에 양궁 남녀 단체전 금메달 쾌 거를 이루면서 주목받는 분이 있습니다. 현 양궁협회장인 현대차 그룹의 정의선 회장입니다. 그는 양궁협회장을 맡은 이후 2008년 베이징 올림픽때부터 하계 올림픽이열릴 때마다 경기장을 방문해 선수들을 격려했고, 그의 양궁 사랑을 통한 지원으로 한국 양궁이 세계 최강을 유지할 수 있었다고 말하고 있습니다.
한국 축구 감독 선임 문제로 시끄러운 축구 협회로 인해 현재 양궁협회장과 축구협회장을 비교되면서 정의선 양궁협회장을 축구협회 회장으로 모셔야 한다는 소리까지 나오고 있습니다. 두 협회의 분위가 너무 상반되어 있습니다. 무엇이 두 협회의 차이일까 생각하면 여러가지가 있을 것입니다. 그 중에 협회장을 비교하면, 협회장으로서 권한을 독단적으로 사용 하지 않고 전폭적인 지원과 선수들을 격려하면서도 자신 보다 선수들을 더 세워주고 있다는 것입니다.
정의선 회장이 양궁 남녀 대표단 금메달을 따고 인터뷰하는데 “자신이 한 것이 없다. 선수들이 노력했고 그들이 열심히 해서다 자신은 선수들이 워낙 잘해서 거기에 묻어 가고 있다”고 하는 인터뷰가 화제가 되었습니다. 그런데 선수들은 인터뷰에서 협회장인 정의선 회장에 대한 고마움을 잊지 않고 하고 있다는 것입니다. 그 만큼 정의선 회장이 얼마나 선수들을 지원하고 위하는지를 선수들이 알고 있기 때문일 것입니다.
저는 가정교회의 본질을 붙들고 잘하고 있는 목회자들은 영혼을 구원하여 제자 삼는 주님의 소원을 이루기 위해 성도들을 위해 희생하고 기도하는 목회자라고 생각합니다. 저희 최병희 담임 목사님과 사모님만 봐도 그런 목회자라는 생각을 하지 않을 수 없습니다. 그런 목사님과 사모님과 함께 사역할 수 있다는 것도 감사가 됩니다.
가정교회의 정신은 4 기둥입니다. 교회의 존재목적인 영혼구원과 제자삼기, 보고 배우는 제자양육, 성경적인 사역 분담, 남을 성공 시켜주는 섬기는 리더십입니다. 제가 동사 목사로서 가정교회의 4 기둥을 잘 발휘 할 수 있는 목회자로 세워질 수 있도록 응원해 주시고 기도해 주시길 부탁드립니다.
A Comparable Chairman
On July 27, the opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympics was held in Paris, France. This time, only 143 athletes participated, making it the smallest delegation since the 1976 Montreal Games, 48 years ago. As a result, the goal was set at five gold medals. However, just a few days into the Olympics, they achieved the five gold medals early, and the outlook has been revised upward.
Among the five gold medals, two have come from archery, the medal-rich event, with wins in both the women's and men's team events. We are also expecting gold medals in the individual events and mixed team event. Amid this success, the current chairman of the Korean Archery Association, Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, has garnered attention. Since taking on the role of chairman, he has visited the competition venues at every Summer Olympics since the 2008 Beijing Games to encourage the athletes. It is said that his support and love for archery have helped Korea maintain its position as the world's strongest in the sport.
Amid the controversy over the appointment of the Korean football team coach, there have been comparisons between the KAA and the KFA, with some suggesting that Chung Eui-sun should be appointed as the chairman of the football association. The atmosphere between the two associations is vastly different. When comparing the chairmen, one might consider whether they use their authority arbitrarily or provide full support, encouragement, and elevate the athletes rather than themselves.
Chairman Chung Eui-sun became a topic of conversation after saying in an interview, following the team's gold medal wins, that he did nothing and that the athletes worked hard and achieved this on their own. He said he just followed along because the athletes were so good. Meanwhile, the athletes have expressed their gratitude towards Chairman Chung Eui-sun, recognizing how much he supports and cares for them.
I believe that pastors who adhere to the essence of the house church model and do well are those who sacrifice and pray for the congregation to fulfill the Lord's desire to save souls and make disciples. I think that our Senior Pastor Choi Byeong-hee and his wife are such pastors. I am grateful to be able to work alongside them.
The spirit of the house church is based on four pillars: saving souls and making disciples, discipling through modeling and learning, sharing ministry biblically, and servant leadership that helps others succeed.
